Arthur Conlon

Tribe:Wakka Wakka Tribe - Sth East Queensland

He is inspired be both the fauna in the Kabi-Kabi region and from his life as a tribesman living on the land. Arthur uses water based paints and his paintings are based on traditional hunting scenes.

The big Circle (Bora Ring) represents a meeting place and the smaller cities are the land and tribes they inhabit. As the ancestors had no writing materials a signature was marked by blowing ochre paint over their hand onto the rock wall whcih was seen as a mark of the local tribe of the area

Peter ‘Muraay Djeripi’ Mulcahy

Tribe: Gamilaroi Area - Central Nthn NSW.

Within each piece of Peter’s art is a reflection of his people, spirits, animals, dance, celebration and ceremony. All of these depict the respect his people held for their ancestors but also for ‘Baayama’ the creator (the all shaper). “Through both elaborate and simple acts my people lived out their spirituality on a day to day basis. I believe this same spirit lives today in my art, stories and in the pride I hold for my people. I hope that once again people will learn and feel the real living spirit that moves within us and our Mother Earth”.
