About
Didgeridoos
Didgeridoo is an Aboriginal word that originated in the Kimberley region
and refers to a wooden wind instrument commonly used during corroborees
and social dancing. A rhythmic droning sound is created when the player
blows through the hollowed section of the instrument. Without a doubt
this fabulous instrument is uniquely Australian and can produce a huge
variety of sounds ranging from the natural voices of the bush through
to the eerie sounds of the night. A good didgeridoo player is said to
be able make the instrument "speak".
Australian Authentic Dreamtime Art produces a range of different sizes
of termite eaten didgeridoo’s. Our range includes the standard didgeridoo
as well as the more exotic types such as; Bell Bottomed, Root Bottomed
and Bark Bottomed varieties. Our didgeridoo's come in 3 standard sizes.

A range of inexpensive bamboo didgeridoo’s in sizes (40cm &
80cm)are also produced. For those requiring an extra shine the option
to epoxy resin coat the didgeridoo is also available. All of our didgeridoo’s
are hand painted originals and signed by the artist and have natural bee’s
wax mouthpieces. (Unpainted designs are also available.)
Our craftspeople test play each didgeridoo but be advised the nature of
the didgeridoo is such that in some cases only experienced players will
be able to make the didgeridoo "speak". Accessories for the
didgeridoo include a complete range of teaching aids such as "how
to play" books, and heavy duty didgeridoo carry bags.
